Firmware for HP Business Inkjet 2600dn Type: Firmware Step 1: do you need to update? This is a firmware upgrade for HP Business Inkjet 2600dn printers. It is compatible with Mac OS X and is released to address bugs in the previous firmware versions and includes the following enhancements. New print mode “Normal Quality” is added. Selection of this mode of printing can be done from the printer front panel: Printing Menu -> Quality Level. Additional warning status “Firmware upgrade or downgrade” in the printer service page. For a detailed download instruction, please refer to the readme file: BIJ2600_DFR751S_ReadMe.rtf. To successfully update the firmware, the instruction in the BIJ2600_DFR751S_ReadMe.rtf MUST be followed. "Click here to view the BIJ2600_DFR751S_ReadMe.rtf file." To check the version of your printer firmware, please do the following: Ensure that the printer in its ready state (Should say ready on the LCD). Print a CONFIGURATION page. Press the MENU button until you see INFORMATION MENU. Press the ITEM button until you see PRINT CONFIGURATION. Press the SELECT button to print the CONFIGURATION page. This should print two pages. The first one titled “CONFIGURATION PAGE” and the second one titled “EIO CONFIGURATION PAGE”. On the first page, under PRINTER INFORMATION there are two FIRMWARE versions to identify. Verify the base FIRMWARE VERSION (ex: D.7.5.1) and also verify the PERSONALITY VERSION (ex: A.07.50). The PERSONALITY is the PCL5 and PostScript Card. The latest FIRMWARE can be downloaded from hp.com. The most current FIRMWARE version can be found under the Windows operating system. The second page contains information on the installed EIO JetDirect module. Verify that the Macintosh is on the same network as the JetDirect print server (IP address, Subnet Mask, SSID if wireless, etc…). Copy the IP address of the JetDirect down (this will be used to connect to the printer with terminal). Step 2: Does your system fulfill the following requirements? Operating System(s): Mac OS X
