DeskWriter Series and DeskWriter 500 Series Printer Driver for HP Deskwriter c Type: Driver HP DeskWriter Series and DeskWriter 500 Series Printer Driver for Macintosh QuickDraw version 6.0.4. This driver replaces version 6.0.3 and enables printing finder windows under MacOS 8.0 on 680x0 machines. The printer driver supports the HP DeskWriter 500 Series printers. Installation Instructions: Note: The version 6.0.4 driver was "bin-hexed" using DropStuff. BinHex is an encoding format that allows electronic transfer of MAC format files. They have a .hqx file extension. It will require the use of StuffIt Expander to de-encode or "de-bin-hex" the encoded driver file once it is downloaded to your hard drive. Some web browsers will contain a copy of this freeware utility. If the web browser you use does not contain StuffIt Expander, you may learn about it from the www.aladdinsys.com web site. You will have to obtain a copy of a bin-hex de-coder utility like StuffIt Expander external from the web (floppy disk or over a network), and install it on your System. The following steps assume you have the StuffIt Expander utility on your System: 1) Download the driver (.hqx) file to your hard drive using a web browser. 2) StuffIt Expander will automatically expand the .hqx file into the driver installer folder. 3) Open the driver installer folder and double-click on the installer icon to launch the driver installation. 4) Follow the instructions on the screen to completion, then select the printer in the Chooser menu.
